What are some "must have" interactive educational toys for toddlers ?

i know leapfrog has some pretty good toys to choose from . does anyone know of any of their toys that are perfect for children between the ages of two - four ? or any other brands ?

Blocks, building forts, roll playing games, puzzles, etc. It is proven that at that age, its far more educational for kids to play with simple non electronic toys that encourage the imagination and active play, rather then staring at a screen and hitting buttons when it tells them to or watching some blinky flashy thing spin in circles. It encourages a higher level of brain stimulation and teaches independent thought, which can be used for more educational aspects when they are at school age, it also teaches them alternate methods of entertainment so they dont get addicted to tv and video games.

What is that movie with the toys & action figures that are robotic enhanced and go crazy on the humans?

I've seen the last few minutes of this movie once, and my brother and I are dying to find out the name of it so we can see it again... As far as I can remember it's about some new kind of toys that go crazy and fight humans with weapons and stuff, even though they are just small action figures. Then there are some good toys as well, i don't remember anymore... Please help Thanks in advance!

I thought of it myself yesterday when looking through Kirsten Dunst's filmography.

I'm working in a little shop in St Michael's Hill, in Bristol. It's a second hand shop, filled with things we bought for a fiver and are selling for a tenner. There's a large, antique grandfather clock ticking on the other side of the room, and a table in the centre with a huge amount of books and old toys and nicknacks and such. I'm sitting at an ancient computer from 1997 on the counter. The cash register has about ninety quid in it. The radio, which is this old thing from the 60s, is playing some golden oldies on it. The chair is a bit squeaky. Lunch break is in about half an hour... Not that this isn't a bad job, but it is slightly boring. In the back room there's an alarmingly large amount of old sandwiches that never got eaten and thrown away, and are liable to get up and crawl off rather soon. Actually, I might go and clean them up...
Done. I managed to fill an entire bin bag with the things. Some of them had nasty blue bits, it wan't very nice.
Some French tourists just popped in, spoke some French, and went away again. That tends to happen quite a lot. I wish I could speak French properly. C'est un tres intressant pomplesmousse d'manger le car? See, I haven't got a clue what I just said. The tourists took a couple of postcards, though, and I got eighty pence off of them.
Well... Anyone out there got any ideas on how to spruce the place up a bit?

How do you read the prices on a Toys R Us gift receipt?

I received some video games from Toys R Us with an included gift receipt. I don't like one of them and was wondering if there is a way to decifer what was actually paid for the game. There are all sorts of numbers throughout the receipt that are probably part of some code structure. I used to work at JC Penney's and they had a similiar system. Anyone have ideas? Thanks.

I have tried before when I included the receipt with the gift, no luck. Even when you take it to the store and they ring it up at the service desk it still only shows part of the code and not the actual price. So there is no way I can think of. Most store have a set code only the employees know. Which is a phrase then the numbers correspond to a letter. A=1 , b=2 etc. If you knew or tried to guess the phrase correspond them numbers , use those numbers to add the correct numerical meaning and it should show you the price. It could be ANYTHING though. But it has to at least be 2 separate different words.

They don't 'normally' need toys. They just need clitoral stimulation. Toys are one way of getting that; fingers or tongues are another way.
Much as many women enjoy intercourse, it doesn't make most women climax. That is because most nerve endings in a woman's genitals are found in the clitoris, not deep inside the vagina.
Intercourse is simply not the easiest way for a woman to reach orgasm; luckily, sex consists of a whole lot more than just that.

Now let me explain before people freak for pet abuse, I understand how passionate people can be about pets.

I'm only using it for ONE night. My friend from work is giving me a 55 gallon glass aquarium which I will set up.

I'm using it for a night because:
A: I'm excited to have my own pet
B. My parents will be away, and I want to get it situated before they come home in 2 days.

My mom (I'm 19 yrs old btw) said I could get it as long as I take full care and the beardie wont smell. I want to get him situated before my parents come home. They know I'm getting it but barley wanna hear about it

Why do so many parents STILL discourage their sons from playing w/ dolls,kitchen sets,& other nurturing toys?

Over the past 20 years, I've noticed an enlightened trend taking hold in regard to little girls and the toys with which society, as a whole, has been encouraging them to play. While baby-dolls, kitchen sets, and Barbies are still staple 'girls' playthings- toy cars, trains, & trucks, along with building-blocks & legos are now considered 'must-have' items for the toy-chests of all 'well-rounded' little girls. And, in addition to having dress-up boxes full of princesses' ball gowns, tiaras, and high-heels, today's little girls are prompted to explore their more rugged sides- with dress-up attire in the form of uniforms for the armed forces, and police and fire departments. Also,in these modern times,no little girl limits her play-identity to that of a nurse, instead of a doctor; or a para-legal, when she can be a lawyer. So,if play prepares children for real-life,it would seem that we're preparing our daughters to 'bring home the bacon & fry it up in the pan', but... what about our sons?

Honestly, I never had to discourge my son from playing with barbies and kitchens. He never had any interest in them. (Unless, he was antagonizing his sister, then he might hide them or something.)

Also, as a parent, I never purchased toys for my daughter with the sole purpose of teaching her to 'bring home the bacon', and I find that claim to be very offensive and short sighted. I, like most parents, buy toys for my children because they want them, they jump up and down in the stores with glee at the thought of them (no matter what the the toy is) and that makes me smile and want to get it for them.

What is the value of this mint in box Barbie by Mattel doll?

Does anyone know the value of a 1962 Reissued Mattel Barbie. She has a red coat and red hat on and a white dress . She looks like Jackie Kennedy. She is in mint condition.

I have this doll but thanks to my wonderful child mine is no longer mint in her box. Anyway anytime I am trying to check the potential value on a doll I own I check with ebay. I just looked and did not see her. You might also be able to find a book at the library that has value lists for collectibles. when the doll was new she was about $40-50. The barbie auction market is not very hot right now which is why a collectibles book might be a better option to find a value.
