Life is a beautiful experience in itself and marriage is a celebration of life. Whatever the occasion, there is one thing that every happy occasion is full of yet there can never be enough of; this commodity is hope. Hope is an essence that is so powerful that it can alter lives and make stronger bonds. It is this feeling that is the strongest in any new marriage and it is the one feeling that a marriage ceremony symbolises.
Now, more often than not people are baffled as to the type of gift that they should give to a new couple. Especially, if the couple are really close to you or one of them is a sibling or daughter or very close cousin. Family and closeness require leaving their imprint on the gifts that they want to extend to the happy couple. Well, a very touching and beautiful idea for a perfect wedding gift is a hope chest for the new couple.
The hope chest has a romantic history. In the olden times, mothers would maintain a hope chest for their daughters and they would keep adding valuable and priceless memories and objects to the chest that they thought that their daughters would need after her marriage.
This chest was made up of cedar or oak and it was very beautiful. This chest was extended to the bride as a dowry on her wedding. With that kind of touching history this chest makes a thoughtful gift for any bride or groom.
In fact, you can give a hope chest to your daughter or even your son on their graduation or when they are about to move to a new apartment.
There are many varieties of hope chests with different designs and made up of a wide range of materials nowadays. They are themselves a unique gift idea. However, you can also add personalised gifts to the chest to make it an even better option as a gift. Some wonderful gift ideas for a hope chest can be listed as follows.

What should I put in a hope chest?
I know this is the wrong forum, but you guys always give really good answers.
I want to start a hope chest, but I don't really know what all to put in it. Any ideas?
Answer
I started my hope chest during my junior year of highschool. By the time I was moving into my house after I married my husband, I had dishes, silverware, towels, picture frames, pillows, a $100 gift card to Lowes (courtesty of my grandparents just for my hopechest)... needless to say mine was full and very helpful!!!
